If you're a Discord user, then you've probably seen or heard about Hypesquad or Partner Program. It's Discord's programs where you can apply and showcase your badges to your friends. But if you live under a rock and don't know any of the community programs, then in this article I will discuss and share about every Discord community program.
Yes, you read that correctly. The Discord community programs are a initiative and is sought after thing, with many people wanting to get into the program exclusively for some of the awesome perks you get.
Discord Moderator Program/Ecosystem
It is the official ecosystem for moderators to discuss moderation. Discord has built the Discord Moderator Academy as a comprehensive resource so that anyone, from first-time moderators to experienced veterans of massive online communities, can find resources to learn about moderation, community management, and more.
The Discord Moderator Academy is built and organised on the basis of their complexity. The articles start with the basics, and the later articles are some of the most advanced topics moderators may face.
After you have passed the exam for the program, you become a Discord Certified Moderator and you get a cool badge on your profile:
Partner Program
As role models to all of the Discord, partnered servers are communities that both the new and veteran users can use as inspiration to create their own communities. Recently there was a change in the Discord Partner Program, rewarding more active servers instead of the server owners with a large following outside of Discord.
For eligibility in the Discord Partner Program, the server in question must meet the Activity Requirements that are listed in the Partner Program portion of Server Insights.
You must keep in mind that partnership is not automatic, and you must fill out an application. Discord can also remove your partnership at any time if the requirements mentioned above are not met for a prolonged period.
If you are a partner you get:
- Discord Nitro, rewards for your community, and access to the Partners-only server.
- Personalise your server with a Custom URL, Server Banner, and Invite Splash.
- Receive a special badge on your server and stand out from the crowd on our Discovery page.

HypeSquad
HypeSquad is an exclusive Discord group for people that are extra enthusiastic. You take a little “test to see how hype you are” Discord says. Take note, not everybody that applies gets in. So, if you don't make it, unfortunately for you, it's the end of the line.
Also, Discord has paused this program for a little while. The badge looks like this:
Student Hubs
Discord Student Hub is a place for students to meet classmates from their school. Each hub is only accessible to users with an email address associated with that school.
- They allow students to find each other and add school-related Servers to a central location
- Discord Student Servers allow the option of replacing pseudonyms with real names to help students find each other
- This all takes place on a student's personal Discord account and allows them to connect their self-run Servers
Discord Admin Community
It is an official server for server admins of all kinds to assemble and exchange community-related subjects. This space allows Discord to chat with admins, moderators, and server owners who manage a server with Community Settings on. Verification Program
Server Verification is used to identify a Discord Server as authentic. It lets people know that the server is the 'real deal. This feature was released in October 2017. This is commonly done for game studios and e-sports organizations.
Discord includes a plethora of features essential to heighten the user experience and help content creators and business owners build their communities.
To ensure the platform is being used legitimately, account holders, bot and server owners are required to go through a strict verification process. Once the verification of bots and servers is complete, they are stamped with a “Verified” checkmark letting everyone know that they’re the real deal.
Also FYI: Discord Partner Program is completely different from Verification Program.
More Communities, Programs, or Ecosystems?
Discord Bug Hunter or the Discord Testers community were the bug hunters of Discord. It's where you would report application and API bugs. Being a dedicated member and a high bug report stats, you could get yourself a bug hunter profile badge. However, this program is now archived and no user is now able to join the program or the server itself.
There seems to be secret news on a new Bug Hunter community. But before anything is publicly confirmed, it is hard to say.
