What is Image Grouping?
Discord can have 10 attachments in a single message. But this particular "feature" leads to the massive problem of a common type of spam called "image spam". Because each message shows the attachments one after another, spammers found a new way to send long vertical images, that too, ten of them in a single message so it floods the chat and users have a hard time going around.
However, with the new image grouping feature, Discord looks forward to grouping the attachments in groups of 2,3, and 4. This is what 2 attachments will look like on Discord.

With Image Grouping vs Without Image Grouping
As you can see this is a concept on what 3 attachment grouping will look like. Of course, the maintain the grouping aspect ratio, the images will be cropped just like it does on Twitter.
This grouping feature does not seem to limit itself to images as it groups all types of attachments even videos as long as it's in the same message.
How to Send Attachments Without Grouping?
After the feature is released, the only way it seems you can send one after one media is if you actually send it one after another. Using individual messages. This feature is currently being experimented with a small number of users and Discord is slowly going to release this to more and more users eventually.
Problems with Image Grouping
Unsurprisingly, as it happens with any newly leaked Discord feature, the community is hating on it.
