How to make it Successful?

Set a clear purpose for the event

The first step in hosting a successful Discord event is to determine what you want to accomplish. Do you want to provide entertainment for your community? Start a discussion on a particular topic? Whatever your goal may be, it’s important to be clear and specific about it. This will help you plan and organize the event more effectively, as well as give the users a sense of what to expect.

Promote the event in advance

Once you’ve determined the purpose of your event, it’s time to let people know about it. Make sure to announce the event well in advance so that people can mark their calendars and make sure they’re available to attend. You can use Discord announcements, social media, and other channels to promote the event and get the word out.

Plan the event carefully

Careful planning is key to hosting a successful Discord event. Consider all the details of the event, including the date, time, and format. Think about what activities or discussions will take place and how you will facilitate them. Will you be hosting a game night? Make sure you have all the necessary games and equipment ready to go.Consider creating a list of questions or topics to guide the conversation.

Invite special guests or speakers

Inviting special guests or speakers can add an extra layer of interest to your event. Maybe you have a popular streamer or content creator in your community who would be willing to participate. Or perhaps you have an expert on a particular topic who could lead a discussion or give a presentation. Just make sure to give any special guests or speakers plenty of notice and provide them with any information they need to prepare.

Prepare for technical issues

Even with careful planning, technical issues can arise during a Discord event. Make sure you have a plan in place for handling any problems that may arise, such as having backup systems or methods of communication. For example, if you’re hosting a game night and one of the games experiences technical difficulties, have a backup game ready to go. Or if there are issues with the Discord server, have a backup method of communication, such as a temporary Discord server or a group chat on another platform.

Have Dedicated Event Staff

Another key thing to having successful events is having assigned event staff. They could just be event staff or even part of your normal staff team. Having assigned event staff will allow your members to have a connection with them.

Follow up after the event

After the event is over, take some time to reflect on how it went. What worked well and what could be improved upon in the future? Make sure to thank any special guests or speakers, and consider collecting feedback from attendees to help plan future events. You can create a survey or just ask for feedback in a general discussion. This will help you understand what people enjoyed about the event and what you can do differently next time.
