We collect your data when you choose to communicate with us for support or questions in the following ways:

  • we collect your social-media usernames/handles when you choose to contact us

Accounts

We do not have an account creation system. We do not collect any data when you visit our website. We do not collect any personal information that you don't give us.

Netcord uses Ghost.org to build and manage this publication. We have disabled the membership feature. All content are free to be consumed and no article is locked behind a paywall. Ghost does not use any tracking cookies of any kind.

Visitor

We collect some technical information when you visit our website, such as

  • we collect your public IP (Internet Protocol) address
  • we collect information on the type of device you are visiting the site on
  • we collect the type of browser you are using and its version
  • we collect the operating system and platform you are using

We may also collect personal information of our readers, such as:

  • timestamp of website visit and leaving website
  • user demographics and statistical data

We study the audience and your interactions in our website. We use your age, platform, and other demographic information to push our advertising campaigns to the right audience. However, we are not integrated with Google Adsense and we are not targeting you with our ads.

The frontend and backend of Netcord is built and managed by the publishing service, Ghost. Their privacy policy can be found here.

DigitalOcean - Data storage

The server-end of Netcord is hosted on DigitalOcean servers in the cloud. Your data is in full control of ours and we are not allowed to misuse it by law.

Disqus - Comments

Our comment section, and 'reaction' system is powered by and the service is provided by the third-party comments service Disqus. Read Disqus Privacy Policy for more information here.

Opting Out

You may withdraw your consent to our use of your personal data at any time.

Withdrawing your consent is simple. Since your data is mainly collected by a third party server (Google Analytics), if you wish to opt out, you have to install Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on (by Google) extension for your browser. Here is the link for Chrome.
